Jesse’s Book

The Best Fly Fishing is Everywhere, the book, will be released in early-2026.

Based in the backyard and beyond the horizon, The Best Fly Fishing is Everywhere presents fly fishing more as art and practice than sport or contest while emphasizing that ‘the best’ is always subjective and exists anywhere that anglers do. The collection showcases and analyzes the indefinable elements and unanswerable questions unique to fly fishing: the endeavor to encounter a fish which isn’t compelled to feed; the ability of angling to span generations and time itself; counting casts and countless flies; sight fishing and night fishing; confidence and karma; traditions and superstitions.

The Best Fly Fishing is Everywhere celebrates the relationships we form, nurture, and explore with ourselves, others, nature, and fish, and aims to inspire a deeper and mutually-beneficial connection with the ecosystems in which we angle. Along the way are intersections and missed connections with steelhead and salmon, trout and tarpon, stripers and smallmouth. There are float planes, float trips, skiffs, canoes, and crashing around in the bush. Family, friends, and strangers. Skunked beers and getting skunked. Good luck, bad luck, and no luck at all. The best fly fishing here, there, and everywhere.
